Alright Some More Positive Things About the Move…

Because I feel strange and not so great about how many things I mentioned in one of those last posts about life here since the move.

The new garden space. I’m able to grow basically everything here and from my last house I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted as a renter. Heck, I’m growing corn here and the house came with 7 different citrus trees!

Here’s a photo of me drinking a margarita trying to figure out what’s wrong with one of the citrus trees. She went from green to yellow to green again very quickly and I almost had a panic attack during the yellow phase.
Here’s my latest and greatest lettuce harvest this winter.

The space in general. For sewing. For living. For all of the animals I keep acquiring… Truly I need to learn how to say no to people. I probably won’t though let’s be honest.

The ability to have a rooster! I named him Keith. (Because I hate cult leaders and I love having the ability to scream at one every chance I get. “Shut up Keith! Nobody cares what you say!”)

Here he is with one of the ladies from his harem.

The dishwasher… I mean come on. I have been the dishwasher for the last 11 1/2 years. Lol.

Having my whole family being able to be here in October. Never in our last house could we have done something like that. Having the ability to host people in general here is just crazy and I am happiest doing it. Even in May we hosted a Memorial Day party for some veterans and in October we had our house warming party and they both went great!

This is an image of part of the yard before the guests arrived for the house warming party. We had to rent tables, umbrellas, and heaters for the over 45 people to be comfortable at the party!

Being able to cancel our storage unit in April. Which is another blessing, the 3 car garage that is now holding most of the items from the unit. But also just being able to go through the whole unit and having a place to put the things worth keeping and the ability to pull items out that could go to the dump or donation, and believe me… it was A LOT of stuff. But strangely not the set of cookbooks I’ve been searching for…🤔

Here we are making another dump run from the storage unit. I think we had a total of 3?

The ability to just try new things and not get stuck in a rut like we had before and never venture too far away from home. Now we went to a Western Movie night in the park, go down to the ocean for snacks, hang out downtown for drinks and a wander around. We used to live in an area that was semi remote so getting away further than our local watering hole became more of a effort than we where willing to do.

The SJC Western Movie Night at the Swanner House that goes all summer long. They started the movie way too late, for us, and we went home early to finish the other half of Tombstone in our pajamas on the couch. 😂

All of this to say it hasn’t all been bad, even though there has been some very tough times here since moving there has been some light in the chaos thankfully. I’m sure I’ll think of more positve things to say later on but for now I feel these will be enough for ya’ll LOL.

I’m Emily Ann Graham,

but you can call me Emily.

and I’m writing a blog, again. But this time it’s going to be about my overall life. The good, the bad and whatever else is going on. I never thought I’d be writing another blog but here I am and not hiding behind a “how to” anymore. Although I might a couple of those too.
