My favorite things in the garden right now

Because I have to talk about them, and if you aren’t following me on Instagram as of yet (what are you doing??)

So here you go. This is one of many garden updates because I am always out there working and trying to create my cottage core, whimsical garden in this historical hispanic SoCal town. It’s going to be a lot of work but I’m trying.


First up are these red climbing roses that can’t wait to let go all over the fence line and honestly I have no idea where they came from because all that was there before was those super basic white roses. 🌹

Second is my raspberry vine. She’s been kicking out the most beautiful berries this season and sooo many are still coming in. I think the count we are at now is over 70 berries that have been picked and are on their way.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Third are the cucumbers! Never had any that fully did what they where supposed to so the fact that this plant is producing and looking healthier than any other I’ve ever had is such a relief for me and my desire to have a successful pickling season. Oh and because I was having my doubts I as to if this plants would really go I started 7 more seeds and they are all coming in! 💚🥒💚

Fourth is my blackberry vine that I stole a start from and old neighbor last year and now it’s officially taken off and is producing. I wasn’t sure if they would take off since I just grab a small “chunk” out of their soil so I’m super impressed with how it’s growing. I now officially have a blackberry tower which is so beautiful to me. 💪🏻

Fifth is my “Hollywood Red” Hibiscus flower that I found in the clearance section of Home Depot while it was hanging on by its last leg. Now she’s very happy, thriving and giving sooo many blooms that I feel spoiled knowing I got her for under $5.

And then there’s the sixth plant which is inside and I really have no idea how that started sprouting there but he’s trying to kill my corn plant so I might have to pluck him out 😹

Alright. Time to get back to work out there. Magic doesn’t just happen on it’s own apparently. LOL
