And I can finally talk about it!!

These goats where apart of a court case in our neighboring county for awhile now so when we where asked to foster them and give them a temporary safe home I screamed with a massive YES!

We have been talking about getting goats for years so this felt like an obvious step to take. Even though it was possibly just for a moment, which broke my heart, but I was willing to try it out.

My first recorded snack time.

Husband and I have been talking about fostering to adopt children for awhile so this felt like the perfect kind of step to take to see how it would effect me because honestly, if I couldn’t even give goats back to the county then how could I ever give a human child back?

But now I have some hope. Probably false hope though because I know it’s not as easy as this process was to adopt a child. The back round checks alone make me feel like I’m about to break out in hives. But that’s a post for another day.

Today though we are talking about my new babies Ashley and Wynona.

They are Nigerian Dwarf Goats and they are so incredibly sweet. Ashley is much more social than Wynona, she’ll eat from your hand, screams her little screams for attention and loves to get scratches and pets. Today though, for the first time since we got her Wynona took a piece of cabbage from my hand. I almost melted I was so happy.

When we found out that we could adopt them back in September, it felt so amazing because it meant I could finally take a photo of them! Because they were apart of a court case I couldn’t take a photo, video, create a post, or do really anything to share their adorablness with the world like I normally would because if someone possibly saw them they could try and come and take them, which really threw me honestly. I kinda got freaked. But it didn’t stop us from taking them home in the back seat of our pick up truck. It was a long drive, and smelly, but now the scent of goat poop lives inside my nose daily.

The goat shed Husband built came together so quickly and I painted a fun design on it of vines and flowers I am now calling the “Love Shack”. Below is a photo of the day we got it into the chicken run, which was a task all on it’s own.

Alright, I gotta get back to cleaning their shed out of poop, again, and probably feed them again because these girls love to eat. Even a neighbor told me the other day that they look like they’ve gotten bigger. Healither, and my heart smiled. So till next time…

Oh my gosh! i just realized… now I need a boy so I can get babies… Oh Husband is going to kill me.

I’m Emily Ann Graham,

but you can call me Emily.

and I’m writing a blog, again. But this time it’s going to be about my overall life. The good, the bad and whatever else is going on. I never thought I’d be writing another blog but here I am and not hiding behind a “how to” anymore. Although I might a couple of those too.
