Quick Blueberry Sauce

This recipe is important to life. Like it’ll be used often if you make it and then it’ll live in your mind forever. I like to make a double batch at a time and then can it for later use.

Because once you have it you’ll find every excuse to use it. From cheesecakes, banana muffins, ice cream topper, a cocktail mixture (I’ve never done that but I just thought of it and now I gotta figure something out to mix it with, maybe vodka?) or just like with a spoon because it’s just plain yummy.

So here you go.

Quick Blueberry Sauce

Yields about 2 cups Total time to cook and prep is about 10-13 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 TBSP cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water ( 1 tsp more as needed)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

Instructions:

Step 1. Mix together the sugar and cornstarch in a sauce pan. Once combined add water and orange juice and stir until it’s a smooth mixture.

Step 2. Add the blueberries and bring the heat to medium high and a light boil. Stir constantly. Boil for 2-3 minutes till mixture is thick and smooth. If sauce is too thick add 1 tsp of water at a time till it’s at the right consistency. (This can be to your preference depending on what you are using the sauce for. ie thicker for cheesecake swirls. Slightly thinner for blueberry banana muffins. You get the idea.)

Alright. You’re welcome.

I’m Emily Ann Graham,

but you can call me Emily.

and I’m writing a blog, again. But this time it’s going to be about my overall life. The good, the bad and whatever else is going on. I never thought I’d be writing another blog but here I am and not hiding behind a “how to” anymore. Although I might a couple of those too.
